Itinerary

  • DAY 1
  • Departure from Cola de Caballo in all terrain vehicle
  • 8:00 Lodging check-in camping, glamping or cabin
  • 10:00 PM Astro tour at night to watch stars, leyends and fireflies
  • 11:00 PM Fire in the woods, stories and marshmallows (not incluided)
  • DAY 2
  • 9:00 AM Chipitin waterfall tour
  • 2:00 PM Regional meal in Aldea
  • 3:00 PM Depature back to Cola de Caballo
  • 5:30 PM Arrival to Cola de Caballo
Clothes
Sport clothing (many changes)
Two pair of tennis shoes (one will get wet)
Raincoat for the safari (may rain on trip)
Sweater or jacket
Groups
Groups can be made 6 people minimum en closed dates, one person minimum in open groups. You can make Aldea Matacanes exclusive for you with a minimum of 35 persons, but is necesary to reseve and pay 2 months before the event.
Food & Drinks
Restaurant and bar: you can order freshly cooked food from the restaurant during opening hours.
Palapa with kitchen and grill: it is necessary to reserve them in advance. Includes BBQ, refrigerator, table, chairs, pans and gas grill.

Regional food included on last day.

Difficulty
Beginners: this trip is for personas without any experience in outdoor activities, camping or mountaneering. The route involves walking in paths, between stones but ther is no use of your hands on this walks. Low phisical condition is required and is a requirement not to have overweight.

    Take the highway to Linares (carretera Nacional), passing El Cercado in Santiago Nuevo Leon, take Cola de Caballo road, go about 5 km south to reach the Hotel. Leave your car in the parking lot, the cost is 100 pesos per vehicle
