🔥 CURC 2025 Pre-Selection – Prove You're Ready

Are you prepared to take part in a once-in-a-lifetime expedition covering more than 150 km on foot through the most iconic canyons of Nuevo León?

The Canyon Ultra Run Challenge (CURC) is an unprecedented physical and mental journey: 6 days, 6 canyons, over 3,000 meters of accumulated elevation gain, and one single way forward—on foot. Starting at the majestic Pico del Potosí (3,715 masl) and ending in the central plaza of Allende, you'll traverse legendary places like Alamar, Misterios, Rumorosa, Matacanes, Hormigas, and Mandarín.

But before you get there, you must pass a key trial.

🌙 What is the Pre-Selection?

The pre-selection consists of a night canyoning experience in Hidrofobia, specifically designed to assess potential CURC participants. It's not just a physical filter: it’s a chance to showcase your character, mindset, and your performance under pressure.

• Response under stress and problem-solving

• Mental strength and resilience

The pre-selection will be held during July and August 2025. You may choose your date from the available options. The cost is separate from the CURC.

👤 Who's Leading This?

Mauricio Garza, canyoning pioneer in Nuevo León and the man behind routes like Matacanes, Misterios, and Hormigas, will be your host and evaluator. During the CURC, he’ll share technical tips, mountain legends, and decades of experience gathered through exploration.

⚠️ Who Can Apply?

Participants must have excellent physical fitness, prior mountain and canyoning experience, and the mental attitude to face real challenges. This is not a tour—this is an expedition that demands respect for nature, adaptability, and passion for adventure.
